3.5. I am a Math, DS, or SDS major. How do I find out who my faculty advisor is?

Home → Math/SDS/DS Majors and Minors → Current Continuing Students → I am a Math, DS, or SDS major. How do I find out who my faculty advisor is?

For Data Science (DS) majors in the Computing and MCB emphases, an advisor from our partner department is assigned to help you navigate the courses in your emphasis since nearly all of them will come from the CS or MCB department. Your advisor assignment is in UAccess; students in the Computing track are assigned to Debra Armand-Cade, and those in the MCB track are assigned to Kara Dyson.

For the rest of our students, unfortunately, UAccess was not set up to allow us add Faculty Advisors to your UAccess account.  You can always request the information from MATH-mathcenter@arizona.edu - Math Center staff will be happy to send along the name and contact information for your faculty advisor.  If drop-in advising hours are convenient, you can also stop in to ask.

The Math Center will email every Math, DS, and SDS major with your assignment in the first part of each semester (typically in late September and late February) as students are beginning to prepare for priority registration.  This message comes from MATH-mcenter@arizona.edu or MATH-mathcenter@arizona.edu, and will also include information about your current Math or DS emphasis (and how to update it if you wish to do so), academic level, and more.
