Course & Instructional SupportTeaching TechnologiesUAccess: Missing Grades (Grade of MG in UAccess)

The MG (missing grade) notation will be placed on a student's transcript when an instructor does not assign grades to a class. Previously, the policy stated that students not issued grades were given an administrative grade of E until the instructor entered the final grade. The MG notation will more accurately reflect the student's grade status than an E in this case.

Assignment of the MG grade

Starting with grades from the Fall 2023 term and moving forward, the Office of the Registrar has started replacing blank grades with the MG designation. Once a grade has been blank for 90 days past the last day of the class end date, the MG grade will be automatically applied.

Changing a MG grade

Once a blank grade has been converted to an MG grade, those with grade post access for the class will need to request a grade change through the grade roster “request a grade change” button. Please review the Grade Change help guide to learn more about this process.
